Roman Podeszwa was born in Duisburg and initially studied film at 20th Century Fox in Los Angeles and later switching to musicology at the University of Cologne. In 2007, he participated in composition courses with Karlheinz Stockhausen in Kürten, released several studio albums of electronic music and received commissions for composition from the Cologne Society for New Music. Eventually, he studied Fine Arts at the Münster Art Academy under Daniele Buetti, graduating as Meisterschüler in 2019. During his studies, he focused on drawing, performance and sound art, exhibiting at venues such as KIT (Düsseldorf) and Lian Contemporary Art Space (Shanghai). Further commissions for video montages came from the Museum Rietberg (Zurich) and the Musée des Confluences (Lyon). From 2021 onwards, he shifted his focus to digital and virtual art, releasing virtual installation spaces on Spatial.io. With the collective PERFS, he explores the interface between real and virtual performance.
Stephanie Sczepanek works as a artist, performer, and (digital) storyteller. Her works span both the real and digital worlds, combining process-oriented actions with cooperation and networking. She has received several scholarships and awards, including the 2022 Innovative Art Projects funding from the Neustart Kultur program of the BBK and the 2021 Art Prize from Sparkasse UNNA. She has exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the Lehmbruck Museum (Duisburg), the Ostwall Museum (Dortmund), KIT (Düsseldorf), bürobasel (Basel), and Lian Contemporary Art Space (Shanghai). She studied art history, classical archaeology, and philosophy at the University of Münster, completing her studies there with a Magister Artium degree. At the Münster Art Academy, she studied Fine Arts under Daniele Buetti, graduating as Meisterschülerin in 2017. Since 2022, she has been exploring the possibilities of interaction between physical and virtual art. Sczepanek's works are primarily performative but can also be experienced at various happenings, workshops or projects. With the PERFS collective, she explores the interface between real and virtual performance.
